Why Mindfulness?
Educators today are under immense pressure, and it can sometimes be overwhelming to know how to support students who are struggling. Trauma is a public health crisis affecting up to 45% of children, but it can be hard to spot or know what to do if we don’t understand it. Mindfulness is a vital and accessible way to build resilience and help you feel grounded and resourced even in the midst of stressful or overwhelming situations.
In Mindfulness for Trauma, you’ll learn what trauma is and how it affects us, how trauma might show up in your students, the science behind resilience, and how mindfulness can support trauma recovery.
If you’re passionate about helping young people overcome adversity, build resilience, and help develop skills that will support them throughout their lives, this course is for you.
Designed by educators, for educators
As the first organization in the country to launch a for-credit mindfulness course in public high schools, our teachers know firsthand how trauma shows up in the classroom. This online course was created by our expert Peace in Schools teaching team and is designed specifically for youth-serving professionals.
