Teen Advisory Board

About the Teen Advisory Board

In 2024, Peace in Schools recruited it’s first-ever Teen Advisory Board, comprised of Mindful Studies alumni aged 15-20. Through this initiative, Peace in Schools is looking to uplift teen voices and experiences in order to make our organization more teen centered and equitable. Teens are at the forefront of our organization and we believe that teens sharing their needs and ideas will truly inform and improve the work of Peace in Schools. Members of the Teen Advisory Board act as advocates for their peers and representatives of Peace in Schools in order to help identify how we can improve our class and organization as a whole.

The Teen Advisory Board is a place for young people, from various schools, to connect, find common interests, and practice mindfulness. The Teen Advisory Board offers an opportunity to develop practical life and leadership skills, build professional connections, and discover individual strengths. Members have a chance to have a lasting impact on the future of teen mental health.

Teens may receive community service hours for their work as outlined by their schools. All members will be eligible to receive a $400 stipend based on attendance and completion of their term.
